I’ve been thinking a lot about the various kinds of support a person needs in order to thrive. I felt overwhelmed with the social support of the last week and all the meals and kind messages. I loved the intellectual support of my wise medical friends. I loved the spiritual support of prayers and time with the Lord.
But today I remembered the physical support a person needs because of a great conversation with my doctor. She’s so good about knowing what tests to order, about knowing what’s coming next in aging, and about knowing what kind of things a body can expect. God has always faithfully provided a great medical system because I’ve mostly lived in college towns near research universities. What a blessing!
When you think about the scaffolding you need to support your life, it matters to have various kinds of support: Social, intellectual, spiritual, and physical.
