In Psalm 40:3, I read:
He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; Many will see and fear / And will trust in the Lord.
I think about the new song God gives us to sing and the individual ways we’re invited to praise Him because of what He’s accomplished in our lives.
And did you notice that this isn’t a time for private, secret praises? The song God gives you to sing–that particular expression of praise in perhaps broadly creative forms–is for others to experience.
When they hear you praising God with that song He put in you, they are overwhelmed because they see God in you. They see and fear and then trust in God.
But how will anyone see and hear you if you don’t move out into a public space and do the thing He’s asking? The song that’s in you wants to get out. Speak it; write it; paint it; perform it; build it.
Let the song out.
