I love reading Jeremiah 32 to remember again the heart of God towards us. He loves to do good to His people. He rejoices in doing good things. It makes God happy. I read God’s words here in Jeremiah 32:39-41. He says about His people:
I will give them singleness of heart and action, so that they will always fear me and that all will then go well for them and for their children after them. I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop doing good to them, and I will inspire them to fear me, so that they will never turn away from me. I will rejoice in doing them good and will assuredly plant them in this land with all my heart and soul.
Something about that phrase, “I will rejoice in doing them good,” makes me think differently about God today. When I think of God rejoicing over the good gifts He gives to us and how He “will never stop doing good” to us, I realize how deeply loved and cared for we are by an incredibly loving and wonderful Father.
