Simple Joys

I love how ducklings follow a duck parent in a tidy line, black webbed feet paddling and fuzzy bodies tipping side to side as they learn balance.

I’ve heard a rumor that these originated over in the shade of the cypress trees, a few yards down the lake.

I imagine them retiring in their nest, jumbled altogether and kept warm all night.
