I noticed today in the book of Genesis the words that accompany God’s blessing. When God blesses, we see the words “exceedingly fruitful” and “multiply greatly” (Genesis 17). God’s blessing meant people became exceedingly fruitful and that their offspring and influence were greatly multiplied.
I kept thinking about asking God to bless that which we want to become more fruitful or multiplied out. It’s wonderful to think of our efforts at work, our conversations at home, or our behavior in our communities as being exceedingly fruitful. It’s wonderful to think that our efforts might multiply greatly–whether in our ministry, our businesses, or in our every day projects.
What do I need to ask God to make more fruitful or to multiply greatly? As we seek His blessing, I remember those words in Genesis.
