Someone recently asked me why it’s so vital to tell our stories of God’s great work in our lives. Why talk about it? Why write it down? Why share it? Can’t we just keep these stories between God and ourselves?
I think about the words God used to send me on a journey of proclamation:
Psalm 40:10 I do not hide your righteousness in my heart; I speak of your faithfulness and your saving help. I do not conceal your love and your faithfulness from the great assembly.
Psalm 40:9 I proclaim your saving acts in the great assembly;
I do not seal my lips, Lord,
as you know.
Psalm 78:4 We will not hide them from their descendants; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done.
I tell of the faithfulness, love, and saving help of God. I proclaim. I tell the next generation.
