Take What Comes

I’m learning to take what comes my way and receive these things as gifts and blessings. Sometimes, I learn many years into the future how this or that thing was actually part of a divine plan. At the time, I thought of certain things as hardships and great losses. I wouldn’t have been able to see God’s goodness in those things at the time. But I know now to challenge myself to see the gracious Unseen Hand much sooner.

I know if that thing had not happened, this thing wouldn’t be happening.

Maybe that’s what maturity is after all—— to receive with open arms every thing given in a day and know it’s a good gift or a potential blessing. We’ve tuned our hearts to grace, mercy, and divine blessing.
