The downpour I encountered as I left the grocery store flooded my shoes with water. My wool socks soaked in so much water that they felt heavy and freezing as I journeyed home. Bursting through the kitchen door, I stripped off the socks to free my waterlogged feet.
And then, I found fresh wool socks to wear. Replacing wet socks with warm, dry socks felt so wonderful. It felt too wonderful, too blessed, and so simple.
A simple moment of rejoicing over such things as warm, dry socks reminded me to live where everything feels blessed, like a miracle. I’m not sure what tomorrow will bring, but for today, I enjoyed the comfort of fresh, warm socks after a rainstorm soaked me.
