I return to Psalm 86:11 where David asks:
Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name.
Another translation says, “Give me an undivided heart.”
Even after years of knowing God, walking closely with God, and trusting God, David still penned a new prayer and a new request. His learning about God didn’t end; he asks for more instruction and a clear path of truth. He asks for singular intention, singular love and devotion, and singular allegiance. Give me an undivided heart.
I pray David’s prayer and ask God to unite my heart towards His and to remove or heal whatever divides my heart.
